This Necklace is 27 1/2″ in length and is constructed with Antiqued Brass Figaro Chain, 49-Strand Wire for strength and draping (in beaded section), Large Antiqued Brass Woven Designed Toggle Clasp and a Brushed Metal kmj Charm. The beaded section consists of Eight Black Re-Constituted Stones, Two 10 mm Stained Wood Beads, Two Onyx Beads and the Focal of the St. Benedict Cross made of a Beautiful Wood Finish and a picture of St. Benedict located on the reverse side of the Cross. After founding twelve communities of monks at Subiaco, Italy, Benedict of Norcia (480 AD – 21 March 547) traveled to Montecassino where he established a monastery and wrote “The Rule.” This simple set of guidelines for how the life of a monk should be lived has become one of the most influential works in all of Western Christendom. .The letters C S S M L – N D S M D, initials of the words Crux sacra sit mihi lux! … The large C S P B stand for Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti (“The Cross of [our] Holy Father Benedict”).
